I have a couple bad habits...well, maybe more than a couple. Actually I have quite a few.
1. One that might possibly get me in trouble is being in love with storms. The wilder and louder, the better. Well, maybe its not the "being in love" with them that's the problem. It's taking pictures of them - while I'm driving. Not good, huh?
In my own defense (is there really any defense when I'm taking pictures doing 58mph - sadly no) I don't do it when there are any other cars around. I really need to just pull over on the side and snap the pictures. But coming home from one of my jobs and traveling on a state route doesn't always allow for pulling over. So I guess I just have to enjoy the moment in my mind and stop taking those damn pictures. But the one brewing on the right sure is a beauty, isn't it?!
2. Another bad habit is forgetting where I parked my car in a parking lot. This one is not a habit that just I have; you know there are a lot of you out there that do the same thing...I see you wandering around the parking lot...haha. I know that most stores with large parking lots have those signs that tell you what row you're in, but I forget to look at them. Or maybe I've been in several lots within a few hours and now row A and row 5 blend together and suddenly I'm confused. Wasn't I in row 5? But this lot is A, B and C. Dang it!
It didn't used to be this hard, but stores have gotten bigger and the parking lots are now bigger too. I guess it's a sign of the times, but I still prefer the smaller stores and the smaller lots.
And having a small silver (or gray, whichever) car didn't help. My little Taurus blended so well that it was invisible. So I think I've solved that little problem. I bought a new car! Well, new to me anyway.
Now don't get me wrong. I didn't buy a newer car so I wouldn't lose it in the parking lot. It was time for another car and I do so love yellow. And I wanted an SUV, especially because of the winter driving on that highway in the other picture. It's rough when its snow covered and the wind is blowing drifts into my lane.
Do you think that little yellow jobbie on the right will be easier to see in a crowded parking lot? I sure hope so, cause it sure is fun to drive.
3. I'm only going to mention one more bad habit I have. (I don't tell everything about myself, tee hee.) It seems whenever I have trouble getting something important done, I find a distraction. Whether it's housework that needs done or laundry that needs folded or finding the right words for my character in my novel to express himself...or lately - rewriting the dreaded synopsis...I find myself turning to one of my bad habits.
The fact that this bad habit is so much fun makes it even easier to escape to.
I love the hidden object/puzzle/adventure games from Big Fish and find myself escaping to play these when I feel overwhelmed with things in my life. These games offer a little relaxation and an escape into another world for a short time, much like a good book offers. Except with these games, I get to interact. And it makes me use my old gray cells so I can try to keep my mind sharp. Hmm, wonder how well that's working, since I'm still losing my car...well, maybe not now that it's yellow. (smile)

A habit is something you can do without thinking - which is why most of us have so many of them. ~ Frank A. Clark
Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of. ~ Unknown
